On the morning of May 2nd our turkey season started out like another turkey hunt. We set up where we figured the birds would hit the field when they flew from there roost. Well it worked out but all that showed themselves were hens. But from where we were sitting we could see one of my other fields. Well about 7:30 we saw 4 toms, 5 jakes and a bunch of hens in that field. So we packed up, headed for the truck and made a game plan to get on these birds. We made a perfect stalk across a wide open winter wheat field using one hill and the Quater Daddy to stay out of site of all the birds. We got to where the birds could see Quater Daddy and we got set up. I made about 5-6 yelps and a few purrs with the KEYSTONE CALL MINI-WEDGE and the SEDUCER mouth call and that was all they could take. We had a jake come into less than 25 yards and I gave Gary the green light to take him as this was his first turkey. After Gary shot, the other birds came charging in and Gary took the camera and I took the gun. Took my bird less than a minute to come into shooting range and BOOM we had just pulled off a Quater Daddy DOUBLE. Three hours of hunting and our Michigan turkey season was over. Thanks to KEYSTONE CALLS for making such awesome calls and to Jason Allen for giving me the idea to go after these birds with Quater Daddy!!! That was a RUSH Gary and I will never forget!!
